A Shared Creative Space
The BlackLab is a traditional, community darkroom where photographers of all skill levels can explore their craft.
Memberships and workshops are available to the public. The facility can also be made available to organizations
that host their own workshops. Located near Yellowstone National Park and Bozeman, MT, the BlackLab is ideally situated for landscape photographers, wildlife enthusiasts and more.
Our Facilities
Central to the lab is a giant 3'x10' processing sink, allowing for print-processing sizes up to 20"x24" (even
larger sizes possible). In addition to standard silver processing, the lab is suitable for a wide array of alternative
processes like cyanotypes, platinum/palladium prints, tintypes and more.

What's Included?
- Unlimited access to the lab and provided equipment, based on availability.
What's NOT included?
- Photographic Film and Paper is not supplied by the BlackLab (unless otherwise specified for a workshop).
- Chemistry costs are not included in the membership (unless otherwise specified for a workshop). Basic chemistry (Sprint developer,
stop, fix, fix remover and wetting agent) can be purchased from the BlackLab at a reasonable rate. You can also provide your
own chemistry, but you may not store it at the lab.
- Miscelleaneous Items including: variable contrast filters, canned air, mounting tissue, paper towels, disposable gloves, negative
sleeves, etc. Members should have a kit of their own with all items that the lab does not provide.
